Last week, we partnered up with NCC Media, superb players in advertising and data-driven technology, to bring frozen goodies to the sunny south of France. At Cannes Lion’s Festival of Creativity, we kept guests cool with over 10,000 delicious FROSÉ popsicles. Inspired by the International Film Festival, Cannes Lions is a festival serving marketing communication forums and discussions for 66 years! Each year, numerous industry players congregate to explore how to drive growth, creativity and build their businesses. There are hundreds of content sessions discussing trending industry topics found on various stages throughout the festival and an enormous programme of events such as workshops, networking opportunities and beach-side speakers.
This year featured speakers such as Unilever’s CEO Alan Jope, whose insightful talk caught the crowd’s attention. Jope discussed how brand purpose is critical when making a positive societal impact and increasing brand trust. Jope stated that the success of Unilever’s brands has grown as a result of embracing purpose. They are committed to discovering clear brand purpose for their portfolio and eventually exiting brands that have no fit purpose. Jope stated that this was a particularly important factor for millennials, as they are attracted to brands which have a consistent and positive purpose.
Musician, Tom Odell, also made an appearance in collaboration with Eventbrite and Sofar Sounds, a music event company that organise gigs with upcoming artists in usual and stunning locations, alongside others such as Camilla Cabello and John Legend. Spotify took to the beaches with a perfect view of the French Riviera, hosting exclusive sets from rappers Swizz Beats and Nas to entertain guests. Other brands such as Google, Facebook & Twitter had similar ideas, celebrating creativity on the beach and offering guests demonstrations and social events to get involved in. The Pinterest beach even had some of our frozen cocktails on offer in their adult playground.
Not only is this a fantastic festival but it’s also based in a stunning location. Held in the same venue as Cannes Film Festival at the Palais des Festivals, just minutes away from Cannes harbour. What a perfect location to enjoy a POPS!
