POPS PICKS: London’s Beauty Week, Fashion Week & Design Festival

London Beauty Week, London Fashion Week & London Design Festival

September seems to be the season to celebrate and immerse ourselves in Beauty, Fashion & Design. With countless events & experiences running throughout the capital, let POPS give you the scoop on what's not to missed!

LONDON BEAUTY WEEK (11-15 September)

The inaugural event will take over Covent Garden with pop-ups and panel discussions. The interactive Beauty Playground in the East Piazza is a chance to discover all the beauty hub has to offer with brands like Molton Brown offering fragrance consultations. Glossybox are hosting an enticing treasure hunt with prizes worth £100+, Jo Malone are offering an exclusive cocktail evening and pop by panel talks featuring Jasmine Hemsley (co-founder of Hemsley and Hemsley) & Deborah Joseph (Editor In Chief of GLAMOUR).

The week is in association with GLAMOUR Magazine UK who also hosted their own beauty festival earlier this year at the Saatchi Gallery, where we served 5000 Bellini popsicles to guests while they browsed all their favourite beauty brands. Game of Throne’s star, Maisie Williams, knew summer was coming when she tried one!

LONDON FASHION WEEK (13-17 September)

This year, London Fashion Week is the first of the four global fashion weeks to offer experiences beyond the trade. The ALEXACHUNG showcase on Saturday 14th September is open to the public with tickets, as is the House of Holland & self-portrait show.

In another first, the United Nations are bringing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (The Global Goals) to LFW and introducing them with the #TOGETHERBAND tapestry.

The week’s celebrations will cover the capital with a curated collection of activities & events. Stop by Brewer Street Car Park and get lost in Anya Hindmarch’s Postbox Maze. In the EDITION hotel’s bar, fashion illustrator Jessica Bird will be offering 15-minute complimentary portraits. Mulberry’s flagship store are running leather bracelet-making workshops and if you are in east London on 13 September, head to Browns East to catch DJ Peggy Gou launching new brand Kirin.

LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL (14-22 September)

There’s plenty to get involved with and this year sees the launch of two new Design Districts: Chelsea and King’s Cross. Check out TouchySmellyFeelyNoisyTasty at Tom Dixon in Kings Cross for a multi-sensory experience and the chance to nab a limited edition tote bag. Over in Chelsea the Saatchi Gallery is celebrating Italian design with it’s I-MADE exhibition. South Molton Street in Mayfair will be adorned with bold bunting & striking sculptural benches as part of Walala Lounge by artist/designer Camille Walala. Brompton Biotopia will display as series of animal habitats designed to support urban biodiversity whilst Paul Cocksedge’s ‘Please Be Seated’ Landmark Project will transform Finsbury Avenue Square.

We’re counting down the days until London Cocktail Week…see you there 4-13 October.
